Did anyone see the Dove Awards this week? They were broadcast on the Gospel Music Channel Wednesday night. GMC is one of the reasons I finally decided to go to digital cable. And I’m glad I got the DVR, ’cause otherwise I may not have gotten to see the show.
I was really moved listening to Phil Stacey (former American Idol contestant) singing Michael W. Smith’s “Place in this World.” We may only think Smitty’s been in the business for 25 years, or what his songs have meant to us as individuals, but he’s actually helped to prepare the next generations of Gospel musicians.
It was nice to be back in Metrolina last weekend, if only for a few hours. Pop celebrated his 70th birthday this week. Mom and Pop will be at a tractor show this weekend, but last weekend was perfect for riding bikes to the top of Morrow Mountain. Thanks Pop!
Spring has definitely sprung here in western Georgia, and I think we’re finally past most of the pollen. The kids are finishing up CRCT this week, Alysia’s got a concert next week, Alex is graduating next month, then there’s band camp, Oshkosh, National Fine Arts Festival….
