3C & 1A will be travelling with a group from church aboard the Eagle. Yes, that’s the week school starts. Lodging details are unknown at this time, but the events will be held at the Orange County Convention Center. See the National FAF web site for more info.

Oh man–how time flies!
In case you missed the e-mail, sorry! But Alex, our little Alex, turned 16 last week. We had a surprise party for him with some of the youth group. As soon as they were done, they were all off to another party!
I took him to get his learners’ permit, finally. He hadn’t shown much interest, but I figured he was 16 now, and he’s going to have to start helping out around the house. Like driving! lol That will be great the next time we go to Granny’s or Mawmaw’s house!
OK, so is it a festival or a convention? I mean, the program is referred to as “FAF” so when they have the big national event once a year, is it still called the same thing? Or does it become the annual convention? So it would then be the FAF Annual Convention?
Hmm…let’s see what the official site has to say. Duh! It’s the National Fine Arts Festival!
Regardless, Alex, Cassie, and Carlie are all going to Orlando in early August to “showcase” their talents. Alex on trumpet, Cassie on trombone, and Carlie with the youth percussion ensemble. They get to progress to this national level since they did well at the district level back in March.
Before her performance at district, I tried to help Cassie set her expectations. I told her that if she made it past the district level, I would take her to Orlando. Well, guess what? She made it! So I get to go to Disney World again this year. Woohoo!
